Q. If I'm taking my class online, who will monitor my 5 mocks that D.O.T requires you to demonstrate in order to become a collector?
A. There are several options, TTC initially provides all our online students an opportunity to monitor their 5 mocks via real time observation through Skype, it's free to sign up but must have webcam capabilities or student can choose any local DOT specimen collector or a laboratory personnel to monitor their 5 mocks (for this option please be advised a possible fee my be required.)
Q. Will I receive a certification of completion?
A. Yes, upon successfully passing the test exam and 5 mocks, you will receive all official training documents the same day and your 5 year certificate will be mailed out to you within 3-5 business days of completion.
Q. Can I get re-certified as a collector after 5 years?
A. Yes, by taking a refresher training course. In order to continue as a certified urine specimen collector, you must take a refresher course by an authorized monitor/Instructor.
Q. Will I be certified only in California?
A. No, Your certification will cover all 50 states in the US up to 5 years.
Q. If a collector makes a mistake that results in cancellation of a test, does he or she have to obtain a error correction training?
A. Yes, If a collector makes a mistake that causes a lab test to be canceled, the collector must undergo error correctional training, in order to continue as a certified urine specimen collector.
Q. Is the test examination hard?
A. The test exam is multiple choice and is based on the Department of transportation urine specimen collection guidelines and the overview of the curriculum training.
Q. Are the 5 demonstration mocks hard to do?
A. The 5 mocks can be challenging based on the accuracy of the step by step procedure, however this process comes after the exam, so students should be well prepared with knowledge on passing the 5 mocks.
Q. Will I receive job referrals?
A. Yes, we provide students with current job referrals from Laboratories, collection sites and rehabilitation centers that's in need of certified DOT urine specimen collectors.
